I just listened

 I keep on listening

To the whispers in the air,

The voices telling me to follow,

Though I’m not sure where.

They told me, “Do this,”

So I listen, just obey,

But in the quiet corners of my mind,

I wonder what I would say.

The world speaks in commands,

But I dream in softer notes,

Yearning to break free,

To swim where my spirit floats.

Still, I keep on listening,

As the hours drift away.

But one day, I’ll find my voice,

And speak what I must say.
